Moving Forward

Ok, so it’s been a long time again, life + work that gives us money are two important factors in this. As was noted by a couple of observant forum goers, it’s been a year since my ‘Alpha approaches’ post, and in my life, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long, I guess that sort of thing has a habit of coming up and biting you in the ass when you least expect it. All that being said, progress is still being made.

Zedd is still plugging away at the back end like a man possessed, I don’t think I’ve seen him doing anything else for quite a while now and he’s making some good progress there.. As for me, a lot of the frontend development does depend on Zedd’s work, but in order to speed up the ‘final integration’ I’m going to, from now, be taking a slightly different approach.

If you look at http://www.turnengine.com today, you’ll see that it’s been redesigned to look like the Shadow Wars homepage, as time goes on I’m going to be adding and modifying pages, then uploading the results. All the data included will be ‘dummy’ data, designed in a way that will be compatible with the ‘final’ version, but will hopefully give potential players a feel for the way the game will play and how the design will be laid out.

This also allows me to start getting feedback from players, I’ll make a new blog post for each new feature / page added, and will allow you to add comments on them so you can express things in the website that work, things that don’t work, possible improvements etc. You’re also welcome (if you are so inclined) to use the forum as a general place of discussion with other people, i’ll be sure to check both.

My goal is to allow you to see the progress on the frontend as it’s being made, and ensuring that it works for everyone as intended!
