Ok, so it’s been a long time again, life + work that gives us money are two important factors in this. As was noted by a couple of observant forum goers, it’s been a year since my ‘Alpha approaches’ post, and in my life, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long, I guess that sort of thing has a habit of coming up and biting you in the ass when you least expect it. All that being said, progress is still being made.

Zedd is still plugging away at the back end like a man possessed, I don’t think I’ve seen him doing anything else for quite a while now and he’s making some good progress there.. As for me, a lot of the frontend development does depend on Zedd’s work, but in order to speed up the ‘final integration’ I’m going to, from now, be taking a slightly different approach.

If you look at http://www.turnengine.com today, you’ll see that it’s been redesigned to look like the Shadow Wars homepage, as time goes on I’m going to be adding and modifying pages, then uploading the results. All the data included will be ‘dummy’ data, designed in a way that will be compatible with the ‘final’ version, but will hopefully give potential players a feel for the way the game will play and how the design will be laid out.

This also allows me to start getting feedback from players, I’ll make a new blog post for each new feature / page added, and will allow you to add comments on them so you can express things in the website that work, things that don’t work, possible improvements etc. You’re also welcome (if you are so inclined) to use the forum as a general place of discussion with other people, i’ll be sure to check both.

My goal is to allow you to see the progress on the frontend as it’s being made, and ensuring that it works for everyone as intended!

I like the look of the new front page. I saw a log out button but no log in button, or register button.

Guess those buttons will not show if you are already logged in. One wish I will make, and realize that it is to far along to do; A 3D galaxy, with three or four layers of stars. That would be great. That is the wave of the future, comming.

Keep up the great work, hope to see the new game some time later this year.

Nice to see something taking shape. The wait feels like it has been long enough to me! Can’t wait to see how research has changed, if any.

Ok, it’s taking time to slide in from the right, that’s cute. Why wasn’t it just there to begin with? There’s Galaxy, Planets, Fleets, Alliance, Trading… Where’s Research?

Great news!
Keep up the good work.
I tried to play other browser games but didn’t work for me. Still missing DarkGalaxy here! I’m looking forward to play ShadowWars.

Again it has been a long time sense the blog has been updated.

We await your new game, or a return to the old one.

Have a great day.

Hurry up, we’ve been waiting ages :p Don’t feel afraid to post non-secret parts of the backend code for us addicts to develop :D

Anyway, I’ve never been active in the community. I just miss DG :( I would love to offer my web-dev services for free if it speeds up development. Just e-mail ;)

Best of luck getting it finished.
