Jupiter 3 was an important round for VVV alliance. Many from our players founded in the VVV-OPA war first serious conflict for them in DG.We decided to stay togheter for Jupiter 4 and maybe the greatest achievement for us was to maintain active about 80-90% from our members from J3, mainly players without to much experince in DG. Almost always, big alliances are colapsing from inside after internal problems, hoewer our average age (35-40) made us wise(and maybe lucky) enough to avoid such problems, so whole round we had a nice athmosphere inside our alliance.Of course this cost us some few compromises.
From the start we launched to galaxy 7. Dont know if it was luck or not, but even some of us used BO for fast invasion we founded no other major alliance in our galaxy. From the small ones, the most important was Supreme Court, we decided there is no need to waste 120 planets so we killed them fast without problems. There was another incident with Criminal Intend, aparently SpikeAustin allowed them to colonise in G7, but that time I was in vacation(and before to go I told our players to block all tries of other alliances to land in G7) and SpikeAustin were semiactive, so CI outpost waves were intercepted, and the few who managed to land were invaded.Well...sometimes **** happens.
Our main target this round were DalCom and after they merged with LR we wanted to fight LR .Meanwhile Wolfpack already started to fight them, we hoped they cant handle both FSC and LR so we asked WP if they wants to fight only FSC and we to take LR. We also had the reserve plan, to attack both LR and WP, at that time our galaxy was cleaned and we were excited to jump somewhere. I told SpikeAustin to ask WP for NAP and if they refuse, VVV to attack somewhere in G15 anyway no matter what will happen. But surprise....WolfPack accepted the NAP and also said they dont need help that time so VVV was forced to look to other directions.
We though Duck will be a good choice and in a discusion with one of their leaders I tested the waters asking for an agreement. Duck politely refused (they were already in strong position having an agreement with TNT-HC which I had no knowlege that time). After that discusion I was sure the war VVV - Duck will happen, and my only concern was to check if TNT will interfear or not.I was a little disapointed to see Duck attacking THC, then the merge DUCK-TNT-HC, AHAVA and 2BA interferences,etc...these actions ruined all our war plans.
Hoewer, we refused to join THC-AHAVA-Dogmatofobia-2BA-Fatality-Borg-Alce coalition against No Sorry since the overwhelming balance of force against them.Hard times for us, we had many ex-ROF, ex-RWS and ex-SOL players and with that big war was difficult to keep them all content. To fill our time we made an expedition in G3 targeting about 100-120 planets of many alliances like FATALITY, Dogmatofobia, and few others waiting to see what will happen. Well...nothing happen, few protests from alliances we attacked but THC,AHAVA,2BA still friendly asking to join their side, and NS tring to aproche us too. Since we were already in G3, we saw there NB and LC , and being hungry we were looking with intrest at their planets. About the same time I meet EgaL, he contacted me for a few planets exchange SOS had in G7.One part of what EgaL told me was something like "we have some friends who may be intrested to make some bussines with you.Are you intrested too?" and the result was first meet with Nightbringers. Save our Scalp were already in war with 2BA, Nightbringers were looking for a serious war too so war with 2BA - Fatality was a nice idea for all of us( I was encouraged too by the merge of FTLT with 2BA). That time Los Chupacabras had the same size and average score like Nightbringers and SOS many inactives and low average, so knowing LC are very close to Fatality(both were wings of Estopa Riders in the past) I was a little corcerned. Then Los Chupacabras attacked SOS affiliates, we attacked fast all 140 Los Chupacabras planets from Galaxy 3(about 50% of all their free galaxy planets) and I was happy....now the balance of forces were good for us. That moment we had 25-30% more score than 2BA-Fatality-LC and even they had a bigger number of experinced players, our attack against their galaxy was now posible even I estimated our chances in victory being somewhere at 50-55%.
We jumped, 2BA maybe undestimate us and made some few but decisive mistakes even they had spies and they saw us coming imediatlly after we launched.First mistake was to try intercepting us. They raised 10 mil warfleet (more than we expected) with 1000 battleships against our 18 milions(500 battlehips). One turn before the battle, suddently about half of their forces avoided the fight and were moved to another planet from the same system. Not a bad plan of the paper, they believed our rain attack will start imediatlly after we land, some of us(less active) will remain on the landing planet so a good oportunity for them to smash a part of our army.Everything correct but at their good move we also moved well mailing some from our players to leave their warfleet behind securing the fleets who remained on the landing point.Rain attacks and invasions in gal 9 started and in this time almost 2BA remaining forces(half were destroyed on the G9 landing planet) were sitting hoping for a good chance to destroy what we let behind, a chance who not come. When we sended first wave of reinforcements, 2BA hoped again we are gonna do mistakes and launched everything they had against our reinforcement waves from other galaxies but we anticipated and covered with what we already had inside galaxy 9. We won that battle and from that point war was already won. Of course, many other bloody battles happened in whole galaxy 9 with big casualties for both sides(here I can mention 2BA-FTLT better individual skills made them to win a lot of nice interceptions over us) , but we won faster than we expected, much faster and our big question that time was "what now ?".NB members joined back their mother alliance and we started to see what other free galaxies can be attacked.Sad thing becouse I found few options without breaking the agreements we had.
Then Wolfpack announced us they cancel the NAP we had.Hmm...not bad, we think...thats maybe what we were looking for.The few WP members which I talked about that said canceling the NAP was more a political thing ( to make WP able to claim they are against all powerblocks) and they have no plans for war against VVV. That wasn't so nice since we also not wanted to be the first who attack becouse we were much bigger, but then EgaL had a brilliant ideea to take FSC players inside VVV and force Wolfpack to make first step. That happended, being afraid of an VVV attack in their galaxy , WP did a normal thing accelerating the attacks against FSC remaining planets. We retaliated invading and giving to FSC players the planets WP had on our territory. We planed the invasion of galaxy 15, but rumors that THC made peace with NoSorry and also more rummors THC made an agreement with [b]WP[] against VVV made us to hesitate in leaving our territory and attack WP galaxy. We also had problems becouse in the past THC asked for a NAP which we accepted, and since we were unsure about THC plans against us we not wanted to broke that agreement.
Best option was to wait for THC next move and try to atract Wolfpack to fight on our land( so with low efficiency). The last part wasnt so hard... since Wolfpack are old(in DG skills) experinced players and old experinced players have big egos, a few flames on forums were enough to provoke them to come on our ground.Since WP were already prepared to jump (gal 1 or 5, I dont know for sure), wasnt to much difficult for them to change destination. Not much to say here...WP chosed well the moment to launch from JG to JG and we were unable to catch them.A bad point for us I think, but they also made a mistake becouse attacked the galaxy were we had the strongest forces that time.
Wolfpack fleets were maybe 1/4 from what VVV had there, but their good skills helped them to survive in such hostile enviroment. I admit to being a little annoyed about this cat-mouse game. Both sides undestimated their oponents. In first attacks Wolfpack managed to invade about 40-45 planets, the majority were reinvaded by VVV few turns later but even so we were unable to throw them outside our galaxy. The main concern was that we saw WP are not tring to defend to much the planets they take, making us to believe more and more their attack its only a diversion.Maybe becouse that some of VVV players not focused enough on Wolfpack and sended forces to defend the other galaxies of our....I have no clue...the conclusion was Wolfpack attack made much damage that we estimated but less that they expected.Putting togheter all battles were one side had more than 100k wf involved, the result of this fast war was: VVV lost 17.2 mil fleets, Wolfpack lost 18.11 mil fleets.WP killed with 22% more battleships than they lost, VVV won for other ships.
About in the same time with Wolfpack attack, THC attacked galaxy 3.I will never know if THC and Wolfpack were hand in hand, but the true is THC made us important damage in galaxy 3. This time was our turn to need a diversion and since Wolfpack DoW-ed the whole server, NoSorry agreed to make a little jump in galaxy 15. Few NS players jumped, WP retreated and VVV move was to send in galaxy 5 , 68 mil warfleet. The funny thing was the THC-VVV war was very similar with our war against 2BA: THC tried to intercepted but their fleets wasnt sended very good(I can say that since big THC fleets landed on the jump planet even 12-20 turns after our arrival.I supose somebody made an "send everything to X planet!" announcement and maybe EgaL message had some effects too.) . VVV invaded a large amount of planets, THC used almost everything they left to intercept the reinforcements, they lost the battle and the war was done. Some THC leaved the alliance, some still fighting, some become inactive.
Thats the story.I wish to thank to all VVV players for their dedication. Many have families and kids, also many played for the first time in free galaxies but we made it.We had a great round.VVV its not for sure the skillest alliance, 1st rank its a matter of luck, but every round VVV did better and better, we are proud of that
and we enjoyed the game no matter people say on forums about us.
Also a big thank you to EgaL and his SOS crew who had a large contribution in our victories.
Nightbringers suport was more than important. The alliance with them maybe saved our round.Xaqueth and Galatoon contribution were decisive in the war against 2BA.Great job guys.Im honoured for having the oportunity plaing the same side as you.
A special thank to No Sorry who helped us with the diversion in galaxy 15.
Thanks too to Wolfpack for the short nice war we had.Maybe you people are pros...but on forums I will never admit that.
I had not enough time to know FSC players who joined us, but from my convos with them irc/ingame I can say they are a bunch of great people.
Thanks to 2BA,Fatality,Los Chupacabras,Dogmatofobia for giving us so many nice planets.
Thats all I think...maybe I forget to thank Lord Zeb for showing me how to make long posts.
Now Q takes a break for some rounds.Good luck to everyone who will play on pluto.
