Misquoted Azador - that was me, I believe. But yes, I do mean just this. The fact that Annatar got Dr. Kev to warn a player just for this with the threat of futher action if the activity continues inplied that this behavior falls under the figher bug rule.

Granted - in this case it wasn't a single fighter, but the intent is the same. Sending a small fleet with no hope of surviving a single turn to delay an invasion.

It's an interesting question. When does it become bug exploitation? It seems like using a fighter, 10 fighters, a bomber, a freighter or a battleship to do this is still expoiting the bug. The bug isn't that a fighter can block an invasion, it's that an invasion fleet can be blocked from invading by insignificant forces guarding the planet. It may not be as obvious as a stream of fighters arriving every turn, but it's exploiting the same bug that allows the fighter to block an invasion.

I would say no. Drop that "bug(?)" fleet to 80M and I'd probably still say no but only because capturing a planet for a tick probably isn't worth the 80M fleet. I'd tend to think someone was just being stupid if they did that. I suppose it's possible that the stored resource on the planet could make it worth an 80M fleet but that'd be a pretty unusual case.

In the example by Azador:

You are looking at a blocking fleet 1/100th the size of the attacking fleet(s). So in your example we would be seeing about a 8M fleet blocking the 800M fleet. It could be worth it to sacrifice the 8M fleet to save the planet.

If it was biff's world, any time the defender gained an real advantage by blocking an attacking fleet with a sacrificial fleet it would be considered exploiting the bug. I don't contend that this is against the rules as they are presently enforced. However, if they were in my alliance I might slap them upside the head for doing it and kick them if they persist.

After all, it certainly possible that someone could do this unintentionally. It isn't as obvious as sending a stream of fighters.
